About Me

Hello, my name is Ahmet Aris and I'm a Security Engineer at BeyondTrust. Prior to BeyondTrust, I was working as a postdoctoral researcher at Cyber-Physical Systems Security Lab (CSL) in the Deparment of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Florida International University with Dr. Selcuk Uluagac.

I earned both my PhD and MSc. in Computer Engineering from the Graduate School of Science, Engineering and Technology at Istanbul Technical University. Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sema F. Oktug, my PhD thesis was on proposing new lightweight DoS attack mitigation techniques for RPL based IoT networks. Assoc. Prof. Dr. S. Berna Ors Yalcin was my advisor during masters and my masters  thesis was on design and implementation of RSA cryptosystem using partially interleaved modular Karatsuba-Ofman multiplier.

I worked as a Research and Teaching Assistant at Faculty of Computer and Informatics Engineering for 3.5 years (January 2015 - August 2018).

Medianova CDN

I worked at Medianova CDN R&D Center for one year (August 2018 - September 2019) as an R&D Analyst. In Medianova, I worked with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Berk Canberk. I wrote three projects to the  Industrial R&D Projects Grant Programme of TUBITAK (Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey). Two of them were accepted. The projects I wrote were:

I had worked with Ass. Prof. Dr. Ayse Yilmazer in the GPU project proposal.

In addition to the R&D project applications, I wrote two research papers at Medianova in collaboration with Medianova R&D team (Hakan Kissaboylu, Seckin Alan, Dincer Salih Kurnaz, etc.) under the supervision of Dr. Berk Canberk. These papers are:

I also authored three blog posts at Medianova on Edge Computing, GPU Computing and Serverless Computing. The blog posts are as follows:

Networked Embedded Systems (NES) - Swedish Institute of Computer Science (SISC)

I conducted research in Networked Embedded Systems (NES) Group at Computer Systems Lab at Swedish Institute of Computer Science (SICS) for three months as a visiting researcher in 2017.
